**The Human Services Association are looking for: Parent Group Participants!**

Seeking people who:

  • Speak English or Spanish
  • Are a parent/caregiver of children aged 5 and under
  • Are interested in making their community a healthier place

 Be part of parent workshops, parent group meetings, grocery store tours, food demonstrations at NO COST!

Mayor's Healthy Heart Award

Mayor Fernando Vasquez is recognizing individuals or organizations who are committed to improving the lives of others within the City of Downey. The Mayor recognizes that countless individuals, in various professions make differences in others lives that contribute to improving their emotional, mental and physical health. Nominees can also be businesses that are committed to helping others improve their overall health and wellness.

If selected by the Mayor, the person(s)/business will receive their award at a future Council Meeting during the ceremonial portion of the meeting.

The City of Downey's Adult Walking Club Ages 40 +

Join our FREE Walking Club every Monday. Check-In from 11:30 AM - 11:45 AM. Walking Club will meet in front of the Barbara J. Riley Community and Senior Center and will include 2 laps around the community center. *Weather permitting*
