Downey Vision 2025
The City of Downey is proud to present Downey Vision 2025, a comprehensive update of the city’s general plan. Downey Vision 2025 is a culmination of work by staff with the General Plan Committee, made up of residents appointed by the City Council to identify the issues important to the community and the goals, programs, and policies needed to address these issues. Downey Vision 2025 will serve as a guide for the growth and development of the city for the next 20 to 25 years. Below are the eight chapters of Downey Vision 2025, which updates nine of the ten chapters of the previous general plan, Downey Vision 2010, adopted in 1992. (The tenth chapter, Housing, is included in a separate document, Housing Element 2000-2005.) The appendix includes (1) a summary of the issues, goals, policies, and programs for easy reference, (2) demographic information including tabular data, graphs of selected data, and data by individual census tracts, and (3) community survey responses.
