| | The Downey Landing Specific Plan has been in effect since February, 2002 and two of the projects that have been developed under it include the Downey Landing Retail Center and the Kaiser Downey Medical Center. The Amended Downey Landing Specific Plan is a request to amend the provisions of the Downey Landing Specific Plan that apply to the central 77 acres (the site Downey Studios occupies) of the 154-acre Downey Landing site in order to redevelop it into a mixed-use development. The applicant’s proposed development is called the Tierra Luna Marketplace, which feature 1.1 million square feet of retail commercial floor area, 300,000 square feet of office space and 116,000 square feet of hotel space (150 rooms).
