The Community Service Officer Program was implemented in 1994 to allow patrol officers to direct their efforts toward suppression of criminal activities. Community Service Officers are full-time, civilian employees whose primary function is report writing. However, Community Service Officers also assist with parking enforcement duties, investigations, and various clerical tasks.
