Downey Fire Assists Montebello Fire on a Commercial Structure Fire

Downey Fire Engine 63, Truck 611 and Battalion 604 (Battalion Chief Gillaspie) responded into the City of Montebello on a third alarm fire shortly after midnight on Saturday, December 18. Upon arrival, Downey Fire encountered a fully involved commercial structure fire involving a building that housed a furniture manufacturing and storage business.  Engine 63 pumped water to Truck 611 for aerial ladder operations.  Truck 611 personnel operated their master stream putting large quantities of water onto the fire.  In addition to Downey Fire, units from the Fire Departments of Santa Fe Springs, Compton, Vernon, Monterey Park, Alhambra, and Los Angeles County assisted Montebello with fire operations.
