Raytheon Makes First Visit to Downey

As announced earlier this month, Raytheon has selected the City of Downey as the newest location for the Public Safety Regional Technology Center. As part of their introduction to the City of Downey, Raytheon officials will be bringing a demonstration trailer to Downey that highlights Raytheon’s Interoperability Communications Center on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. The trailer will be set-up in the roundabout area in-front of City Hall and be available for tours to the general public beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Raytheon officials will also be attending the City Council meeting at 7:30 p.m. that same evening to provide an overview of their Technology Center and what type of work will be taking place in Downey. The proposed facility will be Raytheon’s West Coast Operation Center. Raytheon currently employs 8,300 people in California and they are excited to continue to expand their employee base, specifically in Downey, California.
