| | |  The Downey Fire Department is proud to announce the appointment of Fr. John Higgins as the new Department chaplain. Fr. John graduated from Downey High School in 1967 and currently serves as Pastor of St. Raymond Catholic Church in Downey, near Fire Station #1. As Fr. John embarks on his Chaplain duties, he looks forward to meeting all Department personnel and being available to assist with charity functions, offer spiritual guidance or support, or help arrange for other clergy for people who would rather speak to someone of their own faith community.
