Apartment Structure Fire – Old River School Road

On Sunday, October 09, 2011 at 15:45 hours, Downey Engines 61, 62, 63, 64, Truck 611, Squad 642 with assistance from LA County Fire Engine 57, under the command of 604 (B/C Seely), responded to a reported apartment fire in the 11600 block of Old River School Road.  Upon arrival, Downey Fire units found smoke showing from a first floor window.  The fire was quickly extinguished by first arriving units.  Fire and smoke damage was contained to the room of origin.  All other residents were allowed back into their apartments.  One juvenile patient was treated for smoke inhalation and lacerations to his hand.  Another patient was assessed for smoke inhalation but refused transport. The fire is currently under investigation by Downey Fire investigators.
