Vehicle Fire – Angell Street

On Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11:15 hours, Downey Engines 61, 64, Squad 641 with Truck 611 responded to a reported vehicle fire in 9100 block of Angell Street.  Upon arrival, Downey Fire observed a fully involved single vehicle fire in front of an attached garage at the rear of the property.  The fire was affecting the garage exposure; however, Engine 61 was able to contain and extinguish the fire with no significant extension into the garage unit.  Overhead power lines were burned away during the fire and fell to the ground resulting in an electrical hazard.  Edison was notified of the electrical hazard.  The cause of the fire is under investigation by Downey Fire investigators.
