main automobile entrance and the Olive Garden restaurant. You can board a DowneyLINK bus
there or look for one of the many DowneyLINK signs located along the routes shown on the
back of this brochure. If you need assistance in locating the stop nearest to your home

regarding bus stop accessibility for persons with disabilities may also be obtained at
this same number.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RIDE?
Only 25 cents a trip! Children two to five years and younger are free when accompanied by
an adult. DowneyLINK drivers cannot make change, so please have your fare ready before
you board the bus.
WHAT ABOUT TRANSFERS ON DOWNEYLINK?
Transferring to other DowneyLINK routes is easy as all routes depart the transfer center
at the same time. So If you need to make a connection to another DowneyLINK bus to reach
your destination, just ask the driver for a transfer ticket when you board. It’s free!
The transfer Is marked with a time limit, and it must be given to another DowneyLINK
driver before the time expires, or you will have to pay the full fare of 25 cents again.
CONTINUING RIDE TICKET
If you board DowneyLINK before the route reaches the transfer point and you are
continuing on the same route to reach your destination, ask the driver for a
"continuing ride ticket".
HOW DO I CONNECT WITH MTA?
MTA has numerous lines serving Downey and you can ride DowneyLINK to the MTA stop you
need. DowneyLINK transfers are not valid on MTA buses and MTA passes are not valid on
DowneyLINK. For information about MTA lines and schedules, please call 1-800-2LA-RIDE
(1-800-252-7433).
HOW TO READ THE DOWNEYLINK TIME SCHEDULE
Read from left to right to find how long it takes to reach each major stop listed on the
schedule (these major stops are called timepoints) for each route. The departure time
from the transfer point on Firestone in front of Stonewood Center Mall, is listed in the
first column on the left, and the arrival time back at Firestone is listed in the last
column on the right.
Between each timepoint shown on the schedule are additional bus stops which are not
listed (see insert in this brochure for the listing of all stops). To board at a bus stop
not listed on the schedule, you would locate the timepoint closest to your stop and use
the schedule as a guide. Always use the earlier timepoint as your guide so you will be at
your bus stop a few minutes before the bus. Please note that these times are not always
exact because of traffic so please plan accordingly.

transfer, at no additional cost, to Downey's Public Transit system for travel in Downey.
