Recreation Facilities
The Parks and Recreation Department provides supervision at various parks during the school year. Residents are encouraged to visit the parks and use the many facilities: ball diamonds, play equipment, fitness courses, basketball courts, picnic shelters and more. Alcohol is not permitted at any park site.
Facility Reservations Policy
There are Recreation facilities which may be reserved by Downey residents and community groups: picnic shelters, ball diamonds, meeting rooms and banquet size rooms. Reservations are taken Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and must be made two weeks in advance (10) working days. For fee schedule and additional information, phone the Parks and Recreation Department.
Note: Reservations for the gymnasium (562-904-7128) and Community/Senior Center (562 904-7223) will be taken at those facilities.
