Tennis Court Reservations
Tennis courts may be reserved for up to two hours for one court per reservation (total of eight reservable lighted courts) and may be made up to seven days in advance. Reservations are taken Monday - Friday from 5 PM - 8 PM at the Tennis Center. Fee is $5 an hour and must be paid at the time the reservation is made.
The courts are closed for cleaning on Friday morning. Lights are turned off at 9:00 PM, Monday – Friday, and 7:00 PM on weekends.
Tennis Lessons
We are currently looking for an experienced instructor who has a passion for teaching and motivating youth and adults. Instructors of a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to seek further information from the Barbara J. Riley Community & Senior Center at 7810 Quill Drive or by calling (562) 904-7223.
Tennis Club
The Downey Tennis has been in existence over 40 years and for a $25 annual membership fee, offers competitive, yet fun tennis in a comfortable environment. The club meets twice a week at the Independence Park Tennis Courts as well as off-site for social events throughout the year. Additional Tennis Courts at Furman Park
Furman Park also has four lighted non-reservable (available on a first come first served basis) Tennis Courts available daily from sunrise to 10 PM, 10419 Rives Avenue.
