Congresswoman Lucile Roybal-Allard

A caseworker from the Congresswoman's office is available to assist you with the following agencies:  Immigration, Internal Revenue Service, United States Postal Service, Social Security, Veteran Affairs and other Federal Issues on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

 

Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program ( H.I.C.A.P.) (65+)

A HICAP counselor can help you with questions or problems relating to Medicare (Parts A & B), Medicare billing and claims, managed care, supplemental insurance and long-term care insurance.  This program is for those 65+ or disabled adults on Social Security.  To make an appointment or for more information, please call (562) 904-7223 to meet with Zaida Theiss, CA State-registered Counselor (bilingual English/Spanish).  Appointments are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

 

Income Tax Assistance

Income tax preparation is offered by AARP and is conducted each Monday and Wednesday by appointment or walk-in basis between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  This service is provided February 1st – April 14th.  Reservations for appointments begin in mid-January of each year by calling (562) 904-7223.

           

Legal Assistance

The Law Office of Carolyn Sloan provides 15 minutes of free legal advice to senior citizens on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.  Appointments are scheduled every 15 minutes during the two hours.  PLEASE NOTE:  No legal documents are drawn up at these appointments - only legal advice given.  To schedule an appointment time, please call (562) 904-7223. *Times may need to be adjusted according to attorney's court schedule.
