The Barbara J. Riley Community & Senior Center offers free special interest leisure programs for those interested in watching movies or playing board and card games.  These offer great opportunities to meet new like-minded friends or to spend a leisurely afternoon.   

 

At the Movies  (50+)           

Join us for a free movie showing in the TV Room for the Movie of the Week (movies are subject to change without notice).  Please call (562) 904-7223 for a listing of the movies.  Two showings on Wednesdays only at 9:00 AM and repeats at 1:00 PM.

 

Billiards Room

The Billiards Room is open for patrons 50+ during the Barbara J. Riley’s Community & Senior Center regular operating hours.  There are three tournament size billiards tables and pool sticks are available.   Each summer a Billiards Tournament is held in the Billiards Room for both novice and advanced level. 1st - 3rd place winners are awarded in each level.

Monday and Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM                                  
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Saturday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Sunday – CLOSED

 

Chess & Checkers (50+)         

Get ready to test and sharpen your skills against your neighbor!  No registration required – you are welcome anytime.   Meets every Monday and Friday from 1:00 – 5:00 PM.

 

Trivia Games, Favorite Board Games, Cards, & Puzzles 

If you enjoy playing classic board games such as Monopoly, Yahtzee, Scrabble or  Life and want to be introduced to other boards games such as Mancala, Sudoku and Rummikub come spend your afternoon with us.   Playing cards and putting together puzzles are also available. Bring a friend or meet a new one.  Come and join us every Thursday from 1:00 to 9:00 PM and/or every Friday from 12:00 to 5:45 PM.
