Community fee-based classes

Community classes (except for sports) for all ages are coordinated from the Barbara J. Riley Community & Senior Center (BJR) and are held at BJR, Golden Park or as listed.  These classes offer community members of all ages the opportunity to learn dance, martial arts, fitness, and art techniques, and many others. These classes are a great opportunity to try something new or make new friends.  All the community classes are listed in the Community Services Guide (link).

Fall season beginning late August
Winter/Spring beginning mid-December
Summer season is available mid-April

The Community Services Guide is mailed out to Downey property owners. You may pick-up a hard copy at the Downey City Hall, Community Services Department counter or at the Barbara J. Riley Community & Senior Center or on-line.
