Dog License

All dogs belonging to Downey residents must be licensed.  In order to purchase a license your dog must have a valid Rabies Certificate.  If your dog has been spayed or neutered you must also have a Certificate of Sterility.  While dogs are not required to be sterilized, dogs that have been spayed or neutered qualify for a lower fee for their license and annual renewals.  Residents who are handicapped and low income senior citizens may also qualify for a discounted fee.  You can take your Rabies Certificate and Certificate of Sterility (if applicable) to the City Hall, Cashier Counter to purchase your license.  If you have any questions regarding dog licenses please call the Cashier at (562-904-7246).
