2:00  PM Thursday Special Event - Science - It's all Around Us
Join Rudy Gonzales, "Mr. Chemistry", as he demystifies the chemistry and shows you how science works in the everyday world.  He will perform a variety of experiments to demonstrate how science can be fun.  Watch as Mr. Chemistry places a lit match into the narrowed bottleneck of a flask and sucks a hard-boiled egg into the flask.  Stimulate your mind this summer and discover the exciting world of science.

Show passes will be distributed in the Children's Room 30 minutes prior to the show times listed to the first 110 children.  Due to space limitations, parents will not be allowed in the Cormack Room during the performance.  Free.

Ages: 5 - 12 years old.

10:30  AM Preschool Story Time
It is never too early to introduce your children to books.  Reading is a magical experience and Story Time is a great start.  The stories and activities encourage a love of books and promote the library as an enjoyable place for the entire family.  Join us every Tuesday morning for stories, songs and fun.  This program is for children ages 3 to 5 years old and their parents/caregivers (no groups, please).  Free.

While your younger siblings are in Story Time join us and learn about the computer keyboard.  Free.

10:30  AM Bilingual Preschool Story Time
Join us for stories and songs in Spanish and English every Wednesday morning.  The program is for individual children 3 to 5 years old and their parents/caregivers (no groups please).  Free.

2:00  PM The Belize Whale Shark Expedition
Wayne and Karen Brown will take us on their adventure in Central America as they search for the largest shark on the planet-the whale shark!  Learn about sharks and how they adapt to their environment.  Using specimens and models they will demonstrate how sharks are different from bony fish and how sharks find their food using their seven senses.  Assist Wayne and Karen in showing how big sharks are, from the smallest to the largest, and a few in between.
