Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers... The Special Difference

Here at the Downey City Library, our volunteers are the special difference - the helping hand, the attentive ear, the creative energy. They are essential to the successful daily operations of our library. You can be part of that special difference by giving your time and talent. Some things still cannot be computerized - nor should they be. People helping people is the way of the library volunteer. No one can do the job quite like a volunteer.

You Will Make a Difference

We are looking for people who want to make a worthwhile contribution to their library and to their community. We are looking for people who are cheerful, dependable, and above all, people who enjoy working with people. You will be given training. We will offer you work that fits your time, talents, and abilities plus the opportunity for personal growth by learning and using new skills. You will receive the satisfaction that comes from giving to the community and to your library
