Free Computer Lab

Computers are available during library hours. A library card is required. Reservations are made in the computer lab, though a reservation is not needed if a computer is available immediately. 16 computers are located in the Computer Lab, directly across from the main entrance. Due to demand, time is limited to 1 hour per day per person. Printing is available for $0.15 (black & white) or $0.50 (color) per page. 

A 10-minute Express workstation is set up for patrons who wish to check e-mail or quickly update and/or print files.
Temporary library cards are available for out-of-state patrons with a picture ID.
The Downey City Library also offers 2 hours of free WiFi during library hours.

Library Services for People with Print Disabilities

California's Library Services for People with Print Disabilities, in association with the Library of Congress, provides free Braille and audio books, magazines and playback equipment to all eligible Californians unable to read standard print. Federal Depository Library Program

The Federal Depository Library Program makes available to the public no-fee access to information produced by Federal agencies. The Downey City Library joined the Federal Depository Library Program in 1963. We are a selective depository for the 34th Congressional District. Currently our selection rate is 14% of all materials available through the Federal Depository Library Program.
